The former site of a quarry processing large boulders -- now with four hiking trails

Formerly the site of a quarry for large boulders, called diabase or "trap rock," which were crushed to obtain railroad ballast, concrete aggregate, and surfacing for roadbeds. The park is now covered by a second-growth oak forest.
