Primary uses for this area are hunting and fishing. The Beaver Brook Trail runs south from Mahlon Dickerson Reservation into the Wildlife Management Area, ending near the Rockaway River.
Park Description:
The 3,600-acre Rockaway River Wildlife Management Area is in the rugged Farny Highlands on the eastern edge of Mahlon Dickerson Reservation north of Lake Hopatcong.
Trails Overview:
The Beaver Brook Trail [white], which begins in Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, extends south into Rockaway River WMA. Use the Web Map link on this site for a trail map of Mahlon Dickerson Reservation (County of Morris park) . The trail continues on to Berkshire Valley Road in Jefferson, at the corner of Taylor Road. Along the way, it passes the scenic Lost Lake, which was formed by beavers.
